Prospect Interview With James Williams

I recently got the chance to interview RB prospect James Williams out of Washington State. Here is the interview:

Q: What are your expectations for yourself this season?
A: My expectations for this season is to adapt to the speed of this league as fast as I can and to take everything that I learn in well.

Q: Did you have a favorite player growing up?
A: LaDanian Tomlinson was my favorite player growing up.

Q: What is the best part about being a football player?
A: The best part about being a football player is the fans look up to you and you have a platform to spread so much positivity from the game.

Q: What do you think you will want to do after football?
A: I want to be a mentor for kids and help kids that have bad home lives.

Q: What’s one motto that you live by?
A: My motto is when adversity hits you it’ll hit you hard but you have to learn how to embrace it and turn it into a positive.

Q: What’s the first thing you’ll buy with your first NFL contract?
A: The first thing I would buy is a nice place for my family to live.

Q: How important are player/coach relationships during the season/off-season?
A: Player/coaching relationships is really important to me because coaches really have big impacts on players and they help us in a way a lot of people can’t.

Q: Why did you commit to Wazzu?
A: I committed to Wazzu because I felt wanted and the offense was perfect for the type of back I am.

Q: What’s one thing that sticks out that you learned from your coaches?
A: One thing that sticks out is when a coach really cares about you and will do whatever he needs to do to make you successful.

Q: What system do you prefer to play in at the pros?
A: The best system that I would prefer is a Air Raid just because I can catch out of the backfield really well and it puts me out in space to work.

Williams totaled 560 yards and 12 TDs and 613 receiving yards & 4 TDs during the 2018 season.
