The Buffalo Bills currently own the 9th overall pick in this years draft. Buffalo also owns a total of 10 draft picks, including two 4th round picks, 2 5th round picks, and two 7th round picks. Buffalo still has plenty of needs to fill in the draft, and they will look to fill most, if not all of them in the draft. Now without further wait, here’s my Buffalo Bills Mock Draft.
Round 1: Jawaan Taylor, OT, Florida. Taylor fills an important need on the OL for Buffalo & will most likely start at the RT position. the Bills added some OL help during Free Agency, signing Center, Mitch Morse, Tackles LaAdrian Waddle &Ty Nsekhe, and Guards Quinton Spain, Spencer Long & Jon Feliciano. With that, the Bills will need to finish out the offseason by bringing in a RT to protect Allen.
Round 2: WR Marquise “Hollywood” Brown, WR, Oklahoma. Brown will be a late 1st round pick or early 2nd round pick, in this mock I believe that he’ll fall out of the 1st round. To me, Brown is the last remaining piece to the Bills receiving corp. Buffalo added WRs Cole Beasley, John Brown, Duke Williams, and TEs Tyler Kroft & recently converted TE Jake Fisher this offseason to help in the passing game. With the addition of Brown to that group, their offense will almost be set.
Round 3: Damien Harris, RB, Alabama. The Bills rushing attack was abysmal last season with the likes of LeSean McCoy, Chris Ivory, and Keith Ford to name a few. This offseason they’ve added Frank Gore, Senorise Perry, and former rugby player Christian Wade in the backfield, so they can’t go wrong with adding another back. Harris would be the type of player that Buffalo would like to have for many years.
Round 4: Terry Beckner, DL, Missouri. Buffalo will look to fill the void left by Kyle Williams this offseason. Beckner could be just the type of player that Buffalo is looking for. Beckner totaled 73 tackles & 13.5 sacks in 4 season’s with Missouri. Buffalo will most likely keep 4 DTs, and that would include Star Lotulelei, Harrison Phillips, Jordan Phillips, and Terry Beckner Jr now.
Round 4: Jace Sternberger, TE, Texas A&M. The Bills will be looking to upgrade their TE room this offseason after the losses of Charles Clay & Logan Thomas. Buffalo added former Bengals TE Tyler Kroft and former Bengals OL Jake Fisher to their TE room to go along with young TE Jason Croom. With the addition of Sternberger, the Bills will hope to be set for many years at the TE position. Sternberger totaled 832 yards & 10 TDs last season.
Round 5: Christian Miller, LB, Alabama. The Bills will look to add depth to the LB room & possibly a future successor to Lorenzo Alexander. Christian Miller could possibly be that missing piece. Miller totaled 34 tackles & 8 sacks last season with Alabama, while only starting 4 games out of 14. Buffalo has a history of taking LBs late & turning them into solid/star players, the most recent being Matt Milano.
Round 5: Hamp Cheevers, CB, Boston College. Buffalo has a loaded CB room that will potentially include Tre White, EJ Gaines, Taron Johnson, Levi Wallace, Kevin Johnson, and possibly Hamp Cheevers. While it may not be a position of need for Buffalo, Cheevers will have a nice role with the Bills as a Special Teams player, and will get some playing time at CB after injuries. Cheevers totaled 39 tackles & 7 INTs last season.
Round 6: Sione Takitaki, LB, BYU. Again, the Bills need depth at LB & Special Teams depth, Buffalo will look to add a 2nd LB in hopes that they play a big role for the team, whether it’s on defense, or on Special Teams. While Takitaki will mostly play LB, he is versatile enough to play both LB & DE if needed, which makes Coach McDermott scream with joy.
Round 7: Corbin Kaufusi, DE, BYU. Buffalo loves having a nice rotation on the DL, and Corbin Kaufusi could fit that role perfectly. Kaufusi is the youngest brother of NFL DL Bronson Kaufusi, who currently plays for the New York Jets. Kaufusi totaled 55 tackles & 7.5 sacks last season with the team. Buffalo will most likely keep 4 Defensive Ends on the team, so Kaufusi will have some competition for a spot on the roster.
Round 7: Dru Samia, OL, Oklahoma. While Samia isn’t the sexiest pick, he will provide nice depth at the Guard position, or at worst, will be kept on the Practice Squad. The Bills currently have Quinton Spain, Wyatt Teller, Vladimir Duccasse, Spencer Long, Jon Feliciano, and Ike Boettger at the Guard positon, so drafting Samia with this pick isn’t bad at all.
Buffalo takes care of their needs with this draft, while also drafting some role players at different positions.
Sternberger making it to the fourth and Samia making it to the seventh ? Would be a great haul for the Bills though
