Top 3 Trade Destinations for A.J. Green

With the October 29th trade deadline fast approaching, there is perhaps no greater talent on the block than Bengals wideout A.J. Green. While Cincinnati has claimed that Green will remain in Cincy, we all know how fast things can change as irresistible offers come to the table. Let’s take a look at the most likely destinations for star receiver A.J. Green.

3. Philadelphia Eagles

The Eagles are in a dogfight for the NFC East with the Cowboys. With a team that has been lacking in WR talent, A.J. Green would be a massive boost that could potentially catapult them over their rivals in Dallas. Wentz would certainly be grateful for the help, as the Eagles are currently ranked 21st in the league in pass yards. For a team with Super Bowl aspirations, that does not cut it… so don’t be surprised to see Philly hotly pursuing the former top 5 NFL wide receiver.

2. San Francisco 49ers

The Niners have shocked the world by starting the season 4-0, one of only two undefeated teams so far this year. This impressive start to the season has largely been thanks to a dominating run game, led by backs Matt Breida and Tevin Coleman. This has led to Jimmy G largely appearing as a game manager thus far this season. He’s shown that he’s capable of more with the right weapons, so why not pair him up with one of the best receivers in the game? After the performance put up by they’re defense last week against Cleveland, Shanahan and co. might be feeling like their one piece away from making a deep run at it this year. A group of Green, Goodwin, and Kittle; San Fran could have one of the best balanced offenses in the league.

1. New England Patriots

Bill Belichick has to be ecstatic about the historic start the Pats defense is off to this season. They’re yet to allow more than 1 TD in a game this season (7 of the Giants 14 came from a fumble-6); the team also has 25 sacks and an astonishing 14(!!!) interceptions through 6 games. The offense, however, has appeared rather sluggish at times this season. Much of the points New England is scoring are thanks to the defense and special teams; the offense is putting up much less points than one may assume from checking the box scores. Brady was reportedly very outspoken in his desire to keep troubled WR Antonio Brown, so one may assume that Kraft and Bill might try to assuage him with A.J. An injury to Gordon on Thursday may increase the urgency on the Pats to trade for a talented wideout, and Green is likely near the top of their list. Belichick is notorious for not making what seems like obvious decisions (and then being right about them), but it makes too much sense for the Patriots to trade for A.J. Green. If they do, look out NFL.
