Nine Dead in LA Helicopter Crash, Kobe Bryant Reportedly on Board

At 1:25 p.m. central time on Sunday, January 26, 2020, Los Angeles County Sheriffs on Twitter (@LASDHQ) reported that “Five people confirmed deceased, no survivors in #Calabasas helicopter crash. #LASD #Malibu deputies remain with #LA County Fire personnel. Investigation ongoing. Avoid the area until further notice.”

Although thoughts and prayers are empty in cases like these, LA County certainly has ours here at The Sports Wave in the wake of this tragic moment.

Furthermore, the sports world has been rocked by a TMZ (@TMZ) report that Los Angeles Lakers legend Kobe Bryant was on that helicopter and perished along with the four others on board. This comes just hours after current Laker LeBron James passed Bryant for third on the all-time NBA points scored list. This article is yet to be confirmed by the Los Angeles Police Department.

We here at The Sports Wave will keep you updated as this story develops.
