Top 5 Landing Spots for Jamal Adams

For a almost year now, New York Jets safety Jamal Adams has been subject to trade rumors by the media, even trade talks during the deadline. As you can tell, nothing has happened yet, and Adams is still a member of the Jets. As of last week, both sides were at an impasse on extension talks, and it’s not looking like it’ll clear up any time soon. Let’s take a look at some destinations for Jamal Adams this off-season.

  1. Dallas Cowboys. The Cowboys were one of the rumored teams to be in the running for Adams back at the deadline, and there’s no reason for them to stop calling now. Adams would be a great addition to a secondary that lost their star corner in Byron Jones. There’s only one issue; Adams would be demanding record setting money, while Dallas still has a Dak Prescott contract looming over their head. The Cowboys will have $31.8M cap space next year.
  2. Baltimore Ravens. The Ravens are one big splash away from going to a Super Bowl and Adams would be a perfect fit for their defense. Earl Thomas & Adams would make a fantastic duo, while still leaving Baltimore with good safety depth. Baltimore has to be in win now mode with Lamar Jackson still on his rookie deal, so why not do everything they can to win a Super Bowl now? Baltimore has $65.9M cap space in 2021.
  3. Indianapolis Colts. The Colts are in a tough situation. Although they don’t have a great secondary, or safeties even, they won’t have the cap space to pay Jamal. Nevertheless, Adams would provide a much-needed spark to a young and new secondary. Pairing Adams with Malik Hooker will make a nice duo, with hope that Hooker can shine behind the presence of Adams. Indianapolis will have a whopping $116M cap space next off-season.
  4. Philadelphia Eagles. The Eagles have tried to bring in corners this entire off-season, landing a big splash in Darius Slay, along with Nickell Robey-Coleman, among others. Getting Jamal would be the icing on the cake for an already great off-season for them. Philadelphia is sitting on a depleted safety room. With only Rodney McLeod, Jalen Mills, and K’Von Wallace standing out on the team, they could use a star player back there. Philadelphia is currently sitting at $50.6M cap space for next season.
  5. Seattle Seahawks. The Seahawks, much like some other teams on this list, feel like they are one superstar away from being able to contend. Seattle has built themselves a solid secondary after the Legion Of Boom days, and being able to land Adams would put them in prime position to contend in a deep NFC conference. Much like Philly, the Seahawks don’t have the best safety room, so this will need to get done for them to finally look back on this offseason as a win. Seattle is sitting on $68.7M cap space next year.

The Jets are reportedly looking for a 1st-round pick along with a 3rd-round pick in a trade package.
