3 Big Storylines heading into Training Camp

So far 2021 has been the year of elite NFL QBs requesting a trade, or talking about it in interviews. From the Deshaun Watson drama, to Russell Wilson getting involved in this off-season’s chatter, and the most recent, Aaron Rodgers. Mixed in with that QB drama has been little nuggets here and there. Davante Adams discussing the possibility of leaving if Rodgers does & the Patriots doing something nobody has ever seen them do, spend their money. In this article, we’ll discuss 3 storylines heading into training camp (fingers crossed for fans attending).

1. Deshaun Watson, from his trade request to legal issues. Will he show up? Will he even play in 2021? It’s no secret now that Watson wants out from Houston, but the only question now remains if a team will take a chance on him or not. These legal issues have most likely dropped down his trade value which hopefully for his sake means that more teams will come calling. Less and less reports have come out now involving Watson’s legal trouble, but this doesn’t look like it will end any time soon. If that’s the case, we might not see Watson play football to start this year, and Houston has definitely planned for the worst, signing Tyrod Taylor, and drafting Davis Mills, among other moves.

2. Aaron Rodgers, does he stay or does he go? Speculation first started to come out after the season when Rodger’s mentioned no job is safe, including his. Then during the NFL Draft, reports came out again of Aaron Rodgers not being too happy in Green Bay anymore & wants out. Which makes sense too. When you’ve been bugging your GM for years now to get you another receiving weapon, and the best he can come up with is Allen Lazard & Marquez Valdes-Scanting, its hard to blame him.

3. Tim Tebow & Kelvin Benjamin. Who else could make their comeback? 2021 has been the year of comebacks, and Kelvin Benjamin is the most recent to make that happen. That makes us wonder if there will be anymore comebacks this year, and if so, who? To name a few fun players, S Kam Chancellor, QB Andrew Luck, LB James Harrison, and QB Johnny Manziel. Let’s face it, Tim Tebow is only in Jacksonville because he made a call to new HC Urban Meyer, and possibly for a veteran locker room presence on a young team. Tebow hasn’t played in the league in over 8 years, probably has a little rust, and has never played that position at a high level. Benjamin has always looked like an NFL TE (thanks for that Booger), he just finally switched positions to play longer.
