Baker Mayfield still in Cleveland; where does he land?

It was a little over a month ago when Cleveland Browns QB Baker Mayfield requested his trade. And fast forward a month later, and the Browns haven’t been able to move Baker yet. Baker has had suitors come and go, like the Indianapolis Colts, and some new faces, like the Carolina Panthers. Just two seasons ago Baker took his team to the divisional round & went toe to toe with the Kansas City Chiefs. However, this year wasn’t too kind to Baker & the Browns, dealing with injuries & his star WR demanding a release. So, where does he end up?

1. Carolina Panthers

The Panthers have been struggling to find a QB since the early days of Cam Newton, trying out Teddy Bridgewater & Sam Darnold, to no avail. Now, the Panthers have Darnold on the books for $18M, and are looking for another pricy QB. Baker is no doubt an improvement from Darnold, and with DJ Moore, Robby Anderson, and old friend Rashard Higgins in the WR room, the Panthers’ offense will take the next step.

2. Tampa Bay Buccaneers

The Buccaneers don’t have very many holes to fill this year, and with Tom Brady restructuring his deal to hit Free Agency next year, it never hurts to find the successor to Brady, whenever that time does come. Baker should find immediate success with players of Chris Godwin, Mike Evans, and Leonard Fournette’s caliber around him.

3. Seattle Seahawks

The Seahawks have a glaring need at the QB position after moving on from Russell Wilson (which was the trade that set the league on fire). Seattle still has the weapons to succeed right now, just no QB, which is where Baker comes in. Acquiring Baker means you’re still in win-now mode & don’t wanna go in a 1-2 year rebuild. With how weak the NFC became this off-season, a Baker Mayfield trade could put them right back in playoff contention.
