Trey Sermon Scouting Report

Trey Sermon, the transfer running back from Oklahoma to Ohio State, had a very underwhelming start to his graduate transfer season. He started the season playing behind Master Teague III and played relatively lackluster. Then he broke out against Michigan State, running for 112 yards. After the MSU game, Sermon continued to play at an elite level. He tore up the Northwestern and Clemson defenses on the Buckeyes’ attempt at a 9th National Championship. Although they did end up falling to Alabama in a game where Sermon carried the ball once and only totaled 2 yards before getting injured and missing the rest of the game

Kenneth Gainwell Scouting Report

Memphis running back Kenneth Gainwell was one of the more exciting players to watch in college football during the 2019 season. After opting out this year, Gainwell unfortunately wasn’t able to add on to his impressive tape. Despite this lack of film, he has shown plenty of upside and potential during his shortened college career. His playmaking made Memphis one of the most fun teams to watch in 2019. He became almost impossible to tackle when he hit his rhythm and in the open field he was unstoppable. He can navigate running lanes and burst through holes very quickly which let him gain huge chunks of yardage in the blink of an eye.

Patrick Surtain II Scouting Report

Patrick Surtain II may be the best cornerback in this draft class. His incredible technique may be the best in this class. He was able to lock down almost every receiver in college, to the point where Surtain II had more forced incompletions (13) than catches allowed this season(12) while in single coverage. He was barely targeted last season even with those forced incompletions and catches, which was mainly because of an incredible sophomore campaign where he broke out as one of the top defensive players in college football. Surtain II’s mistakes are rare, and while he did have a couple of problems in college he showed his ability to grow and was able to correct most of these flaws by his junior season.

Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah Scouting Report

Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah may have the best film of any linebacker in this class. His skillset lets him do basically anything a team wants him to do. He can play both inside and outside linebacker, safety, and even some slot cornerback. Owusu-Koramoah rarely makes big mistakes on defense and he fit into his role as the leader of a great Notre Dame defense very well. Most concerns around him surround the smaller mental mistakes he made. Although these are expected in a younger prospect such as Owusu-Koramoah, they are still something he can work on. His overall play was extremely positive and his film supports it, Owusu-Koramoah makes a very strong case for being the top linebacker in this draft class. Even though the argument can be made that Micah Parsons takes that crown, it is a very tough decision.
