On Saturday, former champ Danny “Swift” Garcia is set to take on current WBC and IBF champion Errol Spence. The bout will be Spence’s first since his near-fatal car crash on the night of October 10th, 2019. This also is Garcia’s first fight since the 25th of January, so the fighters should both be more than rested.
Danny Garcia is 36-2 with 21 knockouts. His 2 losses were extremely controversial as both went the distance, with one being a unanimous decision and the other being a split one. Garcia gets his nickname because of how quick he is on his feet and how twitchy he is with his hands, sneaking in punches that the opponent doesn’t see coming. His left hook is easily one of the best in boxing and his lightning fast combinations make him a nightmare to defend against. Garcia is on a mission and is keen on bringing home his 147 pound belt that he lost.

Errol Spence Jr currently holds a record of 26-0 with 21 of those wins coming via knockout. Spence defeated Shawn Porter last September in a unification bout, winning the title Porter beat Garcia the year prior. “The Truth” has been one of the faces of the Welterweight division for some time now, and for good reason. The Dallas County native is known for his quick hands and solid hooks, which can drop opponents any time. He is a hard hitter and proud boxer, and is looking to prove why he should be considered one of the best boxers of this generation.

Garcia and Spence are set to face off at AT&T Stadium on Saturday, the 5th of December. The main even is scheduled to take place at 6 PM PST. While Garcia is the more experienced boxer and fought this year, that doesn’t guarantee a win. Spence is eager to show the world his near-fatal accident didn’t take away or hinder his ability. I see this bout going to Spence in the 10th round via KO. Spence has a lot to prove and while Danny wants his belt, his hunger is going to throw him off in the later rounds.
