Another fantastic week of fantasy football in the books, and what a week it was. Week 4 saw some big performances by surprise players as well as some duds by guys we have grown to rely on. Let’s dive into who the biggest winners and losers of the week…
Winner: Cordarrelle Patterson (RB – Falcons)
The third straight week with double digit fantasy points leads us to ask the question of is Cordarrelle Patterson for real? The answer is yes. Patterson seems to be Matt Ryan’s favorite redzone target, much to the dismay of Calvin Ridley and Kyle Pitts owners. Patterson was efficient running the ball and also pulled in 5 receptions for 82 yards and three scores. While Patterson won’t be scoring touchdowns every week, he’s a threat in the run and pass game and is a dangerous kickoff returner. Patterson is a solid flex play the rest of the way.
Loser: Chuba Hubbard (RB – Panthers)
Christian McCaffrey owners who were hoping Hubbard would fill his shoes were sorely disappointed. While Hubbard didn’t perform terribly (9.1 points in PPR scoring), he only got one redzone carry and Sam Darnold ran two scores in himself. Hubbard needs more redzone touches for owners to trust him on a week-to-week basis while CMC is out. Hubbard is still a must-start until McCaffery returns.

Winner: Saquon Barkley (RB – Giants)
For the second week in a row, Barkley showed why he was a top 10 pick in most leagues. Barkley definitely benefited from his game going to overtime, in which he scored the game winning touchdown, but he still had a very productive game until then. He seems to have regained more of his pre-ACL tear form that sidelined him most of last season, which is music to the ears of all Barkley owners. Barkley should continue to get better as the season continues.

Loser: George Kittle (TE – 49ers)
The 49ers star tight end continues to disappoint. Kittle has yet to reach the end zone this year and has yet to surpass 100 receiving yards in a game. To make matter’s worse, he no longer appears to be the top receiving threat in the San Fran offense. Given Kittle’s raw talent it’s hard to put him on the bench, but I wouldn’t blame you for looking at other options at tight end.

Winner: Tyreek Hill (WR – Chiefs)
Anyone that started Hill this weekend probably won their matchup. His top notch speed and overall shiftiness makes him a end zone threat no matter where the Chiefs are on the field (it also helps that Patrick Mahomes is his QB). Hill put up 11 catches for 186 and 3 TDs and helped break the game open for KC. Hill won’t put up these numbers every week, but don’t be surprised if he puts up similar stat lines a few more times this season.
Loser: Dalvin Cook (RB – Vikings)
Cook returned from his one game absence, but picked up another injury in a loss to the Browns. While Cook eventually returned to the game, it was clear that he was not 100%. Even though Cook returned to the game, he was still out carried by his backup Alexander Mattison. When healthy, Cook is a top 3 fantasy asset, but mange your expectations until he is.
