Welcome to Week 11 of the NFL season. After a few weeks of a nice hot streak, I took an absolute haymaker to the chin last week. It just simply wasn’t good at all. I ended up going 5-9, and yeah, I don’t really want to talk about it. Not good for the overall record, which now sits at 85-64. This week doesn’t look any easier and after one quick glance, I am quite worried that this will be another week that I want to forget about. There are a lot of teams close in the middle of the pack, and many of them battle each other this week. This will be a huge week for playoff implications, but not a very fun week to make game picks. I won’t go into this week discouraged though, because, after hours of analyzing the game slate (even though we know it won’t end up mattering), I think I have a good idea of how this week will go. I know I said it last week, but I’m trying to have a “glass half full” approach right now. It’s all you can do after a week like that. Enough rambling though, let’s get into this game slate and see how we fare.
Tennessee Titans at Green Bay Packers
Winner: Green Bay Packers
Summary: This should be an interesting Thursday night game between two teams that are very hard to read. After a great comeback win against a talented Cowboys team, the Packers have silenced their haters. Atleast for now. Now they get a Titans team that keeps finding ways to win. The Packers will run their luck out this week though. Aaron Rodgers throws for 250 yards and 2 touchdowns, with Christian Watson having 75 yards and a score. Ryan Tannehill throws for 200 yards and a touchdown, with Derrick Henry leading the way with 150 yards and 2 touchdowns on the ground. The Packers move to 5-6, while the Titans drop a key game in the playoff race.
Chicago Bears at Atlanta Falcons
Winner: Chicago Bears
Summary: The Bears offense looks completely different from the team we saw earlier this year. They haven’t translated it to winning just yet but they are close. Justin Fields looks elite right now, and he is hungry to turn it into a win. They get a shaky Falcons team, and they have to be licking their lips here. Justin Fields throws for 200 yards and 2 touchdowns, while running for 75 yards and another score in another huge game. Marcus Mariota throws for 200 yards and a score, while Cordarrelle Patterson runs for 75 yards and another score. The Bears finally get a much needed win, while the Falcons lose another key game down the stretch.
Carolina Panthers at Baltimore Ravens
Winner: Baltimore Ravens
Summary: The Panthers found a way to win a key divisional game last week, but still are devoid of much talent. They now get to play a high powered Ravens team in the thick of the playoff hunt. This shouldn’t be too much of a shock when the Ravens win. Lamar Jackson throws for 300 yards and 3 total touchdowns, while Kenyan Drake scores on the ground. PJ Walker throws for 150 yards and a touchdown, while D’Onta Foreman runs for 50 yards but no scores. It will be a wire to wire win for a Ravens team in need of one to keep up in the crowded AFC.
Cleveland Browns at Buffalo Bills
Winner: Buffalo Bills
Summary: The Bills have gotten humbled after two straight losses and some uncharacteristic play from Josh Allen. They absolutely need to consider this game a must-win, and I think they will do just that against a weak Browns team. Josh Allen will bounce back with 350 yards and 3 touchdowns in the win, with Devin Singletary rushing for 50 yards and a touchdown as well. Jacoby Brissett throws for 225 yards and a touchdown, while Nick Chubb runs for 100 yards and a score also. The Bills get a bounce back win, while the Browns sink further away from an AFC playoff spot.
Washington Commanders at Houston Texans
Winner: Washington Commanders
Summary: The Commanders continue to be giant killers, as they now have taken down the undefeated Eagles. Everyone remembers when a weak Commanders team knocked off the 11-0 Steelers a couple years back, and this feels very similar. They are definitely still riding that high as they head into a matchup with a weak Texans team. Taylor Heinicke throws for 250 yards and a touchdown, while Terry McLaurin accounts for 150 yards and a touchdown reception. Davis Mills throws for 175 yards and a touchdown, while Dameon Pierce continues to run angry with 100 yards and a touchdown on the ground. The Commanders take down the Texans in the end and inch closer to a sneaky playoff chance.
Los Angeles Rams at New Orleans Saints
Winner: Los Angeles Rams
Summary: It feels like nothing good ever happens when these teams play eachother. Whether it’s the Saints beating and ending the 8-0 Rams perfect season in 2018, the infamous no-call robbing the Saints of a Super Bowl, or Aaron Donald breaking the thumb of an aging Drew Brees. This matchup is always yucky. Hopefully everybody leaves with thumbs intact, and referees actually do their job this time. Matt Stafford throws for 275 yards and 2 touchdowns, with Van Jefferson exploding for 125 yards and a score. Andy Dalton throws for 250 yards and 3 touchdowns, with Chris Olave tallying 100 yards and 2 scores. This game goes to overtime, where a costly Saints turnover leads to a Rams field goal and a much needed win to keep their season alive.
Philadelphia Eagles at Indianapolis Colts
Winner: Philadelphia Eagles
Summary: The Eagles got humbled after an 8-0 start, and now they have to regain their focus and make sure they don’t turn it into a losing streak. Luckily, a weak Colts team is coming to town. Jalen Hurts has a bounce back game with 300 total yards and 3 touchdowns, while Miles Sanders scores on the ground. Matt Ryan throws for 225 yards and 2 touchdowns, while Jonathan Taylor has another good game with 100 yards and a rushing score. The Eagles get a good morale boost, while the Colts are left still scrambling for an identity.
New York Jets at New England Patriots
Winner: New England Patriots
Summary: The Jets have been my kryptonite since the season started when it has come to game picks. I doubted them and got destroyed by it, then believed in them and they wouldn’t win for me. I am 3-6 when picking Jets games this season, which is quite frustrating. The Patriots beat them earlier this season, soI am thinking we will get a repeat. Mac Jones throws for 225 yards and 2 touchdowns, and Rhamondre Stevenson totals 100 yards and 2 touchdowns. Zach Wilson throws for 275 yards and a touchdown with another turnover riddled start, and James Robinson scores on the ground. The Patriots take down a divisional rival as the AFC East gets even tighter.
Detroit Lions at New York Giants
Winner: New York Giants
Summary: This is an interesting matchup that is realistically a lot closer than the records suggest. This Lions team is gritty and coming off of a good win, and the Giants have been shaky the last few weeks, albeit it still usually results in wins. I think this week will be pretty similar in the end though. In the end, Daniel Jones throws for 200 yards and a touchdown while running for another, and Saquon Barkley carries the offense with 150 total yards and a touchdown. Jared Goff throws for 225 yards and a touchdown, while Jamaal Williams and D’Andre Swift each score in the loss. The Giants keep rolling to a shocking 8-2, and the Lions come back down to earth after some good wins in the last two weeks.
Las Vegas Raiders at Denver Broncos
Winner: Las Vegas Raiders
Summary: Divisional matchups are always hard to predict, and it is even harder when it is two teams that were supposed to be contenders and turned out to be bottom feeders. Fun fact, if the Broncos scored exactly 18 points in every game this season, they would be 8-1. What do you do with this information? Nothing. It’s still pitiful though. They won’t win this game either. I know it sounds blunt, but I am tired of these Broncos man. There is no reason for them to be this bad. Derek Carr throws for 300 yards and 2 touchdowns, while Josh Jacobs throws for 75 yards and a touchdown. Russell Wilson throws for 225 yards and 2 touchdowns, while Latavius Murray leads their ground game with 50 yards. This game doesn’t have much playoff implications behind it, but it should still be an interesting game. Maybe for all the wrong reasons though.
Dallas Cowboys at Minnesota Vikings
Winner: Dallas Cowboys
Summary: This is going to be a really fun game. I think it is my personal game of the week and there are a lot of playoff implications behind this game. These are two teams that are still in play for the top seed, and they will be playing hard on Sunday. This game can swing either way, but I am feeling the Cowboys bouncing back and taking down the red hot Vikings. Dak Prescott throws for 300 yards and 2 touchdowns, while Tony Pollard leads the running game with 100 yards and a touchdown. Kirk Cousins throws for 325 yards and 2 touchdowns, while Justin Jefferson has a big day with 175 yards and a score against Trevon Diggs. The Cowboys get their best win of the season as they prove that they are still an elite team by taking down the Vikings here.
Cincinnati Bengals at Pittsburgh Steelers
Winner: Cincinnati Bengals
Summary: The Bengals are clawing their way back after a slow start, and they have looked good over the last few weeks. The Steelers got a good win last week, but the competition gets tougher this week. Divisional matchups can always go either way, as shown by the Steelers win over the Bengals in Week 1, but the Bengals get revenge here. Joe Burrow throws for 300 yards and 3 touchdowns, with Tee Higgins stepping up as the WR1 with 125 yards and 2 touchdowns. Kenny Pickett throws for 200 yards and a touchdown, while Jaylen Warren scores a touchdown on the ground. The Bengals get a much needed divisional win against a heated rival.
Kansas City Chiefs at Los Angeles Chargers
Winner: Kansas CIty Chiefs
Summary: This is going to be a high flying game out in LA on Sunday night. Patrick Mahomes and Justin Herbert should go shot for shot until someone is crowned the winner. This time it will be Mahomes who gets the upper hand. When it is all said and done, this game will give us over 800 air yards. Patrick Mahomes throws for 425 yards and 4 touchdowns, with Mecole Hardman being the beneficiary of 150 yards and 2 touchdowns. Justin Herbert throws for 390 yards and 3 touchdowns, while Austin Ekeler scores twice and has over 100 total yards. The Chiefs get a key win, while the Chargers fall to a scary 5-5.
San Francisco 49ers at Arizona Cardinals
Winner: San Francisco 49ers
Summary: Another divisional game in a slate full of them here on Monday night as the 49ers head to the desert. Both of these teams are desperate for a win here as they try to stay afloat in the NFC playoff race. The 49ers are the better team in my opinion, and they’ll prove it here. Jimmy Garoppolo finishes with 250 yards and 2 touchdowns, while Christian McCaffrey proves to be a weapon in both the passing and rushing game with 150 total yards and 2 touchdowns. Colt McCoy throws for 225 yards and a touchdown, and James Conner has another good performance with 75 yards and a touchdown. The 49ers hang on and inch closer towards the playoffs with a good roster and coaching staff.
