The San Francisco Giants have landed the superstar free agent they were looking for.
Per Jeff Passan, Carlos Correa and the San Francisco Giants are in agreement on a 13-year, $350 million contract. With this contract, Correa will now earn the most money ever given to a shortstop.
After losing out on Aaron Judge, the Giants turned their attention to landing a top shortstop. Correa was the best fit and is entering his prime.
Last season with the Twins, Correa played at an elite level.
- .291 AVG
- 22 HR’s
- 64 RBI’s
- .834 OPS
Correa provides elite offense and defense and is now the Giant’s franchise player who they will build around.
I love this deal for both sides. I believe Correa will be excellent in the Bay Area and is setting up the Giants well in the future.
While some may say that 13 years is too long, I disagree. Carlos Correa is a premium player and the Giants had an opportunity to spend big this off-season. Now San Francisco has a building block and can continue to surround talent around Correa.
