Week 15 Power Rankings
- Montreal Canadians
Record: 8-25-5
Last Week: 31
The Canadians got stomped by the Wild this past week, so I mean, I think it is safe to keep them right here where they belong.
- Arizona Coyotes
Record: 10-27-4
Last Week: 31
The Coyotes are in full rebuild mode..obviously, but the news with Chychrun being shopped for a massive return is good news for fans I guess.
- Philadelphia Flyers
Record: 13-22-8
Last Week: 29
The Flyers are not good, simply put, but hey congratulations to Kieth Yandle for the new iron man record.
- Seattle Kraken
Record: 13-25-4
Last Week: 30
The Kraken is a team that will be sellers come to the deadline, but they do have a couple of players to trade for some future assets.
- Buffalo Sabres
Record: 13-22-7
Last Week: 28
The Sabres went 2-2 this last week, while also losing their goaltender to suspension.
- Ottawa Senators
Record: 13-20-3
Last Week: 27
The Senators are not good, but hey, Tim Stützle had a good game vs the Blue Jackets.
- New Jersey Devils
Record: 15-21-5
Last Week: 26
The Devils are not moving on this list, simply because they win games, then lose games, so the inconstant teams do not move, got it?
25. Chicago Blackhawks
Record: 16-20-7
Last week: 25
This dang team goes from winning three straight to losing games in a week. Very inconsistent team the Blackhawks are.
- Columbus Blue Jackets
Record: 18-21-1
Last Week: 24
There is not much to talk about when discussing the other than how disappointing the season has gone. The team just can not seem to figure out how to win consistently, and trades for stars have not worked either.
- Detroit Red Wings
Record: 18-19-6
Last Week: 22
Without rookie Lucas Raymond scoring much, the Red Wings have struggled to score as well.
- New York Islanders
Record: 15-14-6
Last Week: 23
The Islanders went 3-1-0 with two wins over the Flyers, so the season is looking much better lately, but it is still a long way from the team getting a playoff spot.
- Winnipeg Jets
Record: 17-15-6
Last Week: 19
The Jets have now lost four straight, and in a tough division, I don’t think it is an understatement to say things need to turn around fast.
- Vancouver Canucks
Record: 18-19-5
Last Week: 20
The Canucks are now under new management, which could mean some big changes to the roster coming soon.
- Edmonton Oilers
Record: 20-16-2
Last Week: 21
The Oilers won their first game since Dec. 18 and it was a big one, in the battle of Alberta. Up you go on Week 15 Power Rankings.
- Los Angeles Kings
Record: 21-16-6
Last Week: 14
The Kings did not have a successful week, losing to the Lightning who played just four defensemen. The Kings season thus far, has had success, but luck may be running out soon.
- San Jose Sharks
Record: 22-19-2
Last Week: 17
The Sharks are in the midst of a slump and seem to be in the same boat as the Kings, as the luck may have run out.
- Anaheim Ducks
Record 21-16-7
Last Week: 18
The Ducks had a good weak with a big win over Tampa Bay, but the season numbers are still not great, at least the underlying ones.
- Calgary Flames
Record: 20-12-6
Last Week: 15
The Flames gave the Blues a sense of why they didn’t want to travel to Canada, handing them a 7-1 loss in the process.
- Dallas Stars
Record: 22-16-2
Last Week: 16
The Stars had a pretty simple schedule as of late, and have taken advantage of it, other than losing to the Canadians, so they are not allowed to move in this week, Week 15 Power Rankings.
- Boston Bruins
Record: 24-13-3
Last Week: 13
Brad Marchand is becoming… likable? The weird season for the Bruins continues as they are now riding a fairly hot streak.
- Nashville Predators
Record: 27-14-3
Last Week: 12
The Predators went for a couple of games, but have responded well since, winning two straight against the Jets and the Red Wings.
- St. Louis Blues
Record: 25-12-5
Last Week: 11
The Blues are moving to the future and that has started with Ivan Barbashev, who has been taking advantage of being a bigger role this year.
- Las Vegas Golden Knights
Record: 25-15-3
Last Week 8
The Golden Knights are on a small slump, going 4-4-2 in their last 10, but some unlucky puck luck has been a reason for that.
- Pittsburgh Penguins
Record: 27-10-5
Last Week: 9
The Penguins have been the league’s top team over the last week. Their veterans have been a huge reason for that.
- Toronto Maple Leafs
Record: 26-10-3
Last Week: 10
The Leafs blew a lead to the Rangers, and since that they have not lost a game, so maybe a wake-up call for the Leafs.
- Washington Capitals
Record: 23-12-9
Last Week: 5
Alex Ovechkin’s watch is back, as he had five goals in his last five games, giving him 29 on the season.
- New York Rangers
Record: 28-11-4
Last Week: 6
The Rangers have one of the best defensemen in the league, and one of the best goalies, so as long as Fox and Shesterkin can keep stealing some games the Rangers should keep up in the standings.
- Minnesota Wild
Record: 25-10-3
Last Week: 7
The Wild are hot again, going 5-0-1 in their last six games, and have three players who are on a lengthy point streak in Kirill Kaprizov, Mats Zuccarello, and Kevin Fiala.
- Carolina Hurricanes
Record: 28-9-2
Last Week: 2
The Hurricanes won two big games against the Rangers and the Bruins, but then let the Devils score 7 goals on them in that defeat, so down in this Week 15 Power Rankings you go.
- Tampa Bay Lighting
Record: 28-10-5
Last Week: 3
Victor Hedman is just not human at this point, he registered three points in Tampa’s 6-4 sin over the Kings. That’s not it although, he also played 32:18 minutes, just insane!
- Florida Panthers
Record: 29-9-5
Last Week 1
The Panthers came back to earth this week, losing to the Flames and the Kraken.
- Colorado Avalanche
Record: 30-8-3
Last Week: 4
The Avalanche are on a six-game winning streak, thanks to their insane top six and now finally some good goaltending. So welcome to the top of this Week 15 Power Rankings Avs!
