Part 1: Predicting Where the QBs Land

This is the year of the quarterback, right? You’d assume so. With guys like Tom Brady & Teddy Bridgewater to Joe Burrow & Tua Tagovailoa, you can’t go wrong with a lot of these guys. Without further ado, here’s the top QBs and where they land this off-season.

Tom Brady: Las Vegas Raiders

Brady signing with the Raiders has been talked about all offseason, and has been picking up steam the whole time. The Raiders could do this for 2 reasons: to sell tickets in their brand new fancy Las Vegas Stadium, or they’re seriously looking to upgrade their QB position and don’t like the way things are going with Derek Carr.

Yes, Carr, The same player who led the Raiders to a 12-4 season in 2016-17. The same QB Las Vegas gave a 5 year, $125M extension in 2017. Let’s not forget Carr is still a good QB, but might be getting burned out in Vegas, which would point to the Tom Brady rumors gaining steam.

Philip Rivers: Indianapolis Colts

I wrote about the Colts bringing in Rivers back in January, and it looks like it could still happen. Rivers has many friends there in the building, along with the team rumored to be in the market for a QB this offseason. A Brissett/Rivers/rookie QB room would look pretty good for a Colts team that has been trying to rebuild the pieces Andrew Luck left last season.

Dak Prescott: Dallas Cowboys

This one seems pretty obvious. Barring something wild, Prescott will be playing for Dallas in 2020.

Teddy Bridgewater: LA Chargers

The Chargers are in need of a QB after letting Philip Rivers walk. LA will look to find a young QB, but if they look at Teddy B, they would have to pay up, specifically $25-30M a year type of contract. If that’s the case, the Chargers would have to be invested into Teddy for the long-term, and that may not be such a bad idea. While filling in for Drew Brees last season, Teddy totaled 1,384 yards, 9 TDs, 2 INTs in 5 games started.

Andy Dalton: New England Patriots

The talk of the combine has been Tom Brady leaving the Patriots, and if that comes true, the Patriots would most likely look to a veteran QB for their starting role, and who better than Andy Dalton? With only 1 year left on his contract, it wouldn’t cost the Patriots more than a 4th round pick.

Joe Burrow: Cincinnati Bengals

This is a pretty easy draft pick for the Bengals to make, almost a no-brainer if you will. Burrow has the tools to be a very successful QB in this league, and if Cincinnati can build around him and give him players to succeed with, they found their franchise QB for 10+ years. They just have to hand in the card on draft night.

Tua Tagovailoa: Miami Dolphins

This is almost a lock at pick 5, assuming somebody like the LA Chargers doesn’t trade up ahead of Miami. But that would never happen, right?? The Dolphins have 3 1st round picks this year, and are in need of a QB. If they can draft Tua along with some weapons, this team could be scary in a couple years.

Free Agency opens up on March 18th at 4:00 PM EST, with the tampering period starting March 16th. The NFL Draft starts April 23rd. This should be an interesting Free Agency period.
