The first week of action is in the books, and week 2 comes right at us with no change of pace, as the New York Giants take on the one and only Washington Football Team tonight. Let’s get right in.

New York Giants vs Washington Football Team
Two NFC East teams each seek their first win of the year after disappointing debuts in week 1. Washington has to roll with one-game wonder Taylor Heinecke after Ryan Fitzpatrick injured his hip, and the Giants are still unfortunately stuck with Daniel Jones. Expect a typical boring Thursday night game.

Las Vegas Raiders vs Pittsburgh Steelers
This matchup has sneaky potential to be a solid one after both teams pulled off unlikely upsets in week 1. Derek Carr gets another chance to prove his worth against a formidable Steelers defense that rendered Josh Allen ineffective in week 1. On the other side, the Steelers look to establish some offensive consistency. We’re in for some gritty, old school football, but entertaining nonetheless.

San Francisco 49ers vs Philadelphia Eagles
Jalen Hurts opened the 2021 season in strong fashion, torching an atrocious Falcons defense for 264 yards and 3 TDs through the air. He faces a much tougher test this week, and while the 49ers may already be banged up on defense, they will also put up more than a measly 6 points. Jimmy Garoppolo is clinging onto life as 49ers starting QB and will leave his all out on the field before Trey Lance can step in. I see another win for a talented Niners squad.
Prediction: 49ers 33, Eagles 15

Houston Texans vs Cleveland Browns
This might be the only point of the year in which the Texans have a better record than the Browns. Don’t be fooled by their week 1 fluke, Tyrod Taylor is no elite quarterback. After all, he was up against the Jaguars. The Browns should bounce back smoothly at home in a rout.

Denver Broncos vs Jacksonville Jaguars
Teddy Bridgewater looked impressive in his Broncos debut, throwing for 264 yards and 2 TDs with a completion rate of 77.8%. It helps to have a strong supporting cast around him, but even without Jerry Jeudy for a few weeks, Teddy Two Gloves should be able to keep the Broncos relevant for some time. The Jaguars look to be in for another typical Jags season, and Urban Meyer is already rumored to be looking the other way, with the USC job now open. This one could get ugly.

New Orleans Saints vs Carolina Panthers
Our first NFC South matchup of the year takes place between two sides with new starting quarterbacks looking to establish themselves. Jameis Winston had a day against Green Bay, while Sam Darnold took care of business against his former team, the Jets. The easy pick here would be to choose the Saints, but something tells me Carolina has a home upset brewing.

Los Angeles Rams vs Indianapolis Colts
Matthew Stafford and the new look Rams looked impressive in their debut, living up to the hype built around them this offseason. They put up 34 points on a Bears defense which has wreaked havoc in recent years, but time will tell if either is a legit unit or not. The Colts look to be in for yet another year with mediocre QB play, and Carson Wentz will have to turn it around quickly during Indy’s tough opening stretch.

Buffalo Bills vs Miami Dolphins
After pulling up a clutch divisional upset in week 1 against the Patriots, Brian Flores and the Miami Dolphins look to make it two for two as they host the Buffalo Bills. Tua Tagovailoa looked sharp and did all that was asked for, but he may need to step it up if the Dolphins want another win against the Josh Allen-led Bills offense. Buffalo should bounce back just fine from their week 1 L.
