The NFL Trade Deadline has come and gone with a few big deals, one specifically being LB Von Miller going from the Denver Broncos to the LA Rams. This was probably one of the most hyped up trade deadlines in recent memory, with names like Deshaun Watson, Xavien Howard, Fletcher Cox, Evan Engram, and many more being rumored to be on the move.
- Von Miller to the LA Rams. Miller has been one of the best pass rushers in the league since he joined the Broncos back in 2011. Since then, Miller has totaled 481 tackles, 110.5 sacks, 25 forced fumbles, 2 INTs, and 2 TDs to go along with his Super Bowl 50 MVP award. After coming back from a ruptured Achilles last season, Miller has looked like his former self before his injury. So far this year he’s totaled 4.5 sacks & 17 tackles in 6 games. Miller joins an already stacked Rams defense with Aaron Donald, Leonard Floyd, and Jalen Ramsey making things difficult for opposing defenses. With this move, the Rams put all their chips on the table to make a run at a Super Bowl this year. Not only will he be a force for opposing OL, but he will also be able to help mold their younger defensive players for the future. If Miller doesn’t sign an extension this season, he will become an unrestricted FA for the first time in his career. A+ trade for LA & I can’t wait to see this defense on SNF against the Tennessee Titans.
- Zach Ertz to the Arizona Cardinals. Ertz has been a great piece to the Cardinals offense so far, totaling 7 receptions for 108 yards & 1 TD. He has proven to be a reliable safety blanket for Kyler Murray late in games, and it has benefited Arizona well as of late. Landing a player of Ertz’ caliber for Tay Gowan and a 5th round pick is probably the biggest fleece of this deadline, with Philly basically giving up on one of their best TEs in recent memory & a guy that helped lead them to a Super Bowl. Arizona’s offense improved tremendously with that move. Grade: B+ with huge upside
- Stephon Gilmore to the Carolina Panthers. GM Scott Fitterer said before the season they would be involved in every trade and, well…they were; They acquired Gilmore for a 6th round pick. Trades they’ve pulled off this season include landing Sam Darnold, Stephon Gilmore, CJ Henderson, and trading away Dan Arnold. The Panthers have made it a point to upgrade their secondary lately, and they have done so with those 2 big moves. With Gilmore only playing in one game so far, it’s too early to say how much this actually does improve their secondary, but it’s fun to assume that they will have one of the best secondaries in the league next year once everybody gets into a groove. Grade: A
HMs: Laurent Duvernay-Tardif to the New York Jets, Melvin Ingram to the Kansas City Chiefs.

One name that was rumored to be on the block was Rams WR DeSean Jackson, who was cut late today. Jackson still has a couple more good yards left in him & should have a nice market waiting for him in free agency.
