Another week of football is completed and as the playoff race in both conferences starts to heat up, teams can not afford to slip up. Welcome to the Week 10 edition of Stock Up/Down
STOCK UP
Kirk Cousins and the Vikings – With the Bears shutting down Dalvin Cook for majority of the game, they forced Cousins to throw the football, which was a win for the Bears. However, Cousins shredded this Bears defense for close to 300 yards and 2 touchdowns and the Vikings defense gave up 0 touchdowns from the offense. The Vikings are on a 3 game winning streak and right back in the playoff race.
Indianapolis Colts – This Colts defense is LEGIT. Everybody came to play for the Colts on Thursday night. The blocked punt completely changed the game for the Colts. Rivers and Pittman were unstoppable along with Nyheim Hines. The Colts defense was everywhere. This Green Bay Packers game is huge for the Colts as if they win, they may be a legit contender in the playoffs.
Los Angeles Rams – The Ram’s run game was efficient and scored all 3 touchdowns on Sunday. Goff limited turnovers and making him throw of play action is a recipe for success. Jalen Ramsey is a top 3 cornerback in the league as he held Metcalf to 2 catches for 24 yards. This defense also forced 2 turnovers of Wilson as they locked down the Seahawks pass game.
New England Patriots – The Patriots are 4-5 and right back in the playoff race. Jakobi Meyers has emerged as a star for this Pats offense and Cam Newton and his versatility improved this offense. Damien Harris had a career high in rushing against one of the best defenses in the league. This defense made plays when needed and capitalized of the Ravens mistakes.
Other Risers – Arizona Cardinals, New York Giants and Pittsburgh Steelers
Stock DOWN
Philadelphia Eagles – This is the first time in the last 4 years that the Giants have beaten the Eagles. Drops hurt the Eagles AGAIN and they could not do anything in the passing game. The run game was solid but since they trailed, it forced Wentz to force the football down the field. Defensively, this defense got no pressure on Jones and the Giants run game could not be stopped by the Eagles. They are still in first place but the Giants are right on their heels.
Russell Wilson – Another week since Wilson patented “Let Russ Cook”, another terrible game played by Wilson. He threw two errant interceptions against the Rams, one of which he could’ve walked in for a touchdown. He needs a big bounce back week against the Cardinals or the Seahawks are in trouble.
Chicago Bears – The Bears are wasting that defense. They shut down Dalvin Cook and forced Cousins to throw which is what you want. However, their only touchdown came from 103 yard kick return. Foles is 2-5 as the starter while Trubisky was 2-0. Their offensive line is horrendous and the play calling is worse. The Bears were 5-1 just a few weeks ago and now sit at 505 with risk of dropping to 3rd place with a Vikings win.
Drew Lock – Sure we love the dancing and lip syncing highlights, but Drew Locks game right now is a big NO. He had a 48% completion percentage along with FOUR interceptions against the 22nd ranked pass defense. He has weapons as well in Gordon, Fant, Jeudy and Patrick, he just simply can’t get the job done.
Other Fallers – Lamar Jackson, Washington Football Team
