Why the Orlando Brown Jr. Trade is so Impactful

The technical prowess and physical tools that Orlando Brown Jr, possesses is a big time upgrade from the above average former starter that was Eric Fisher. When you pay a quarterback $500 million you need to protect that asset. Essentially ending a super late first-round pick in exchange for a rock solid blind side pass and run blocker is somewhat of a steal for the Chiefs. After a brutal Super Bowl outing, the Chiefs knew that they needed an overhaul on the offensive line. After giving every position except for left tackle a makeover, they made the move for Brown Jr. and this is looking like the strongest line the Chiefs have had in over a decade. As if we thought the Chiefs couldn’t get better, they did. Now a line that sports talents like Joe Thuney, Creed Humphrey, and now Orlando Brown Jr. makes this line not only rock solid in pass blocking, but will blow open lanes for Clyde Edwards-Helaire, last year’s first-round pick. These may not be the “sexy” additions to an offense, but they might just be the difference between another embarrassing exit and a second ring for Mahomes and crew.
