X & Bryce’s Dual Mock Draft

Bryce & X are back for our annual 2 round mock draft this year! We list two possible trades that benefit everyone (some not so much), as well as multiple surprising picks, and some not so surprising (looking at you Jax)

1. Jacksonville Jaguars: Trevor Lawrence, QB, Clemson. This is a no-brainer pick. Lawrence will bring that team back to relevance.
2. New York Jets: Zach Wilson, QB, BYU. The Jets can go either way with this pick. Fields and Wilson seem like the 2 QBs who can go to the Jets, but Wilson fits the Jets more.
3. San Francisco 49ers: Justin Fields, QB, OSU. The 49ers choose the next best QB left with Fields, and quite frankly the most pro-ready QB outside of Lawrence.
4. Atlanta Falcons, Kyle Pitts, TE, Florida. Pitts is easily the best prospect in this class. Atlanta can pair him up with Julio Jones & Calvin Ridley and pick apart defenses. Atlanta will be able to go younger for when they go to a different QB.
5. Cincinnati Bengals: Penei Sewell, OT, Oregon. Joe Burrow may want Ja’Marr Chase here, but you have to protect Burrow. He will have one of the best Tackle prospects ever to block for him, and maybe he will like that more than another receiver.
6. Miami Dolphins: Ja’Marr Chase, WR, LSU. The Dolphins jump on the opportunity to improve their WR room with Chase & will give Tua a WR1 for a decade to come.
7. Washington Football Team (Via Detroit Lions): Trey Lance, QB, North Dakota State. With this trade, Washington gets their QB of the future while they focus on the present with Ryan Fitzpatrick. Still can’t get a name though.
8. Carolina Panthers: Patrick Surtain, CB, Alabama. The Panther’s secondary is in shambles. With Donte Jackson and Marquis Haynes at corner, an upgrade is needed.
9. Denver Broncos: Mac Jones, QB, Alabama. Drew Lock was just drafted a few years ago, but he has been very underwhelming. A change to Mac Jones would help Denver’s offense take off.
10. Dallas Cowboys: Rashawn Slater, OT, Northwestern. Some think a secondary is the logical pick, but the Cowboys’ OL is getting up there in age, and Tyron Smith may not be as reliable anymore. Slater is the best pick for everyone involved (including Dad).
11. New York Giants: Micah Parsons, LB, Penn State. Parsons is the best LB I’ve seen in a long time. With Reggie Ragland, the presumed starting ILB, drafting Parsons will sure up NYs front 7 (maybe the only position on that team).
12. Philadelphia Eagles: Jaylen Waddle, WR, Alabama. Waddle is probably the 2nd best receiver in this class. Pairing Waddle with Jalen Hurts (or somebody else) will give the Eagles a more up-to-date offense.
13. LA Chargers: Jaycee Horn, CB, South Carolina. The Chargers secondary is aging, and they just released Casey Hayward as well. The Chargers can start improving their defense starting with Horn.
14. Minnesota Vikings: Jaelan Phillips, Edge, Miami. Phillips is probably the most talented pass rusher in this class. If he can stay healthy, the Vikings will get a dominant pass rusher to go alongside Danielle Hunter.
15. New England Patriots: Rashod Bateman. The Patriots made an attempt to upgrade at the WR position, but it was a cute one nonetheless. Bateman would give the Patriots more flexibility with their WR room.
16. Arizona Cardinals: Alijah Vera-Tucker, IOL, USC. Arizona’s biggest problem right now is protecting Kyler Murray. If they can give him some time, along with their pass catchers, would make a great offense.
17. Las Vegas Raiders: DeVonta Smith, WR, Alabama. The Raiders should not be finished upgrading at receiver. Drafting Smith will give them an upgrade over Bryan Edwards, but another dominant weapon for Derek Carr, but only if they throw 20 slants to him per game.
18. Miami Dolphins: Azeez Ojulari, Edge, Georgia. The Dolphins should look to improve at pass rusher after trading Shaq Lawson away to the Houston Texans. Azeez is probably the most pro-ready prospect and will do a lot for the Dolphins front 7.
19. Detroit Lions (From Washington Football Team): Christian Darrisaw, OT, Virginia Tech. The Lion’s biggest need should be upgrading their OL for when they restart at QB. This will free them up to land a pass catcher in the later rounds.
20. Chicago Bears: Greg Newsome II, CB, North Western. The Bears finally hit on a draft pick with Newsome. Chicago is trying to fill a void in the secondary left by Kyle Fuller, who was released last month.
21. Indianapolis Colts: Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah. The Colts look to add a good LB to pair with Bobby Okereke & Darius Leonard.
22. Tennessee Titans: Caleb Farley, CB, Virginia Tech. The Titans came away from FA with a lot more holes than they entered with. Losing TE Jonnu Smith, WR Corey Davis, and releasing CB Adoree Jackson. Their Biggest need would be CB with Janoris Jenkins & Breon Borders starting.
23. New York Jets: Kadarius Toney, WR, Florida
24. Pittsburgh Steelers: Najee Harris, RB, Alabama. The Steelers RB situation was already shaky, to begin with, now with James Conner hitting FA, they will need somebody to take the load off of Ben Roethlisberger after his arm gives out in October.
25. Jacksonville Jaguars: Christian Barmore, IDL, Alabama. The Jaguars Interior DL isn’t anything to be proud of. Drafting Barmore here would be a huge upgrade to the fighting Trevor Lawrence’s.
26. Cleveland Browns: Zaven Collins, LB, Tulsa. I’m not sure the Browns even know what they want to do here. But what they NEED to do here is draft an athletic LB for a division with Lamar Jackson & JK Dobbins in it.
27. Baltimore Ravens: Trevon Moehring, S, TCU.
28. New Orleans Saints: Davis Mills, QB, Stanford. This may come as a surprise to a lot of people, but the Davis Mills hype is real. The Saints would make a lot of sense for Mills. Having Taysom Hill & James Winston in front of him allows him to sit for a year or two and develop.
29. Green Bay Packers: Teven Jenkins, OT, Oklahoma State. The Packer’s biggest need is WR, but nobody expects them to do that, right? At least not in round 1. The Packers OTs are solid, but I think they could eventually use an upgrade over Billy Turner.
30. Buffalo Bills: Kwity Paye, Edge, Michigan. BillsMafia, mount up. The Bills consensus’s biggest need is a pass rusher. The leading sack total was 5 last season, coming from AJ Klein & Mario Addison. I like Paye as a run stuffer, but if Buffalo can develop him as a pass rusher too, they won with this pick.
31. Kansas City Chiefs: Terrace Marshall Jr, WR, LSU. The Chiefs love having multiple receivers who can stretch the field at the same time, and with losing Sammy Watkins to Baltimore, this pick makes a lot of sense.
32. Miami Dolphins (Via Tampa Bay Buccaneers): Travis Etienne, RB, Clemson. The trade up. Is this the final piece to the Dolphins offensive puzzle? If so, Too will be drowning in offensive firepower this season.
33. Jacksonville Jaguars: Pat Friermuth, TE, Penn State.
34. New York Jets: Asante Samuel Jr, CB, FSU
35. Atlanta Falcons: Jevon Holland, S, Oregon
36. Tampa Bay Buccaneers (From Miami Dolphins): Jamin Davis, LB, Kentucky
37. Philadelphia Eagles: Baron Browning, LB, THE OSU.
